There are three professional leagues of soccer teams under the United States Soccer Federation for the Men’s soccer- the Major League Soccer (MLS), the United Soccer League First Division and the United Soccer League Second Division. The Major League Soccer is the top level league in the USA while the USL First Division is a 2nd division league and the USL Second Division is the 3rd Division League.
The Major Soccer League is composed of the Eastern and the Western Conference. The Eastern Conference is composed of the following teams: Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, DC United, Kansas City Wizards, New England Revolution, Red Bull New York, and the Toronto FC which is actually based in Canada. The following teams are part of the Western Conference: Chivas USA, Colorado Rapids, FC Dallas, Houston Dyamo, Los Angeles Galaxy, Real Salt Lake and the San Jose Earthquakes.
An amateur league named USL Premier Development League stands under the three major professional leagues. There are two other leagues outside of the professional structure leagues of the MLS and the USL and these are the National Premier Soccer League and the Pacific Coast Soccer League.As for the Women’s Soccer, there are currently two leagues, the Women’s Premiere Soccer League and the W-League which is under the United Soccer League. There is also a soccer league sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation, the Major Indoor Soccer League.

The W-League is composed of the following teams: Boston Renegades, Long Island Lady Riders, New Hampshire Lady Phantoms, New York Magic, Northern Virginia Majestics, South Jersey Banshees, Western Mass Lady Pioneers, Ottawa Fury, Ronchester Rhinos Women, Sudbury Canadians, Toronto Lady Lynx, Bradenton Athletics, Carolina Dynamo, Charlotte Lady Eagles, Hampton Roads Piranhas, Richmond Kickers Destiny, Chicago Gaels, Cincinnati Ladyhawks, Cleveland Internationals, Fort Wayne Fever, Michigan Hawks, Minnesota Lightning, West Michigan Firewomen, Kalamazoo TKO, Fort Collins Force, Mile High Edge, Real Colorado Cougars, San Diego Sun Waves, Seattle Sounders Saints, Vancouver Whitecaps.
